Candy Measurement

Knowing how much candy to buy for an event, or to fill up party favours and candy buffet glass jars can be tricky. How much candy is in one kilogram bag? Well.. the number will vary according to the type of candy.

Candies come in different sizes and weights and this will affect the quantity you will need. For example, Jelly Belly beans are very small and heavy for their sizes while individually wrapped salt water taffies are bigger and light weight.

Below, you'll find the measurement in cups for the most popular candies at special events. So fill up your party favour, jar, or container with water or rice, pour into a measuring cup, and find out how many cups of candy you will need. Refer to our chart to translate the cup value into a weight in kilograms, or pounds.

This information is very useful if you are looking for ways to save money making a candy buffet. Simply select your candies by matching the highest volume of candy per kilo with your largest glass jar, and more expensive candy, with the lowest volume per kilo, such as Jelly Belly, with your smallest jar.  This will reduced your overall cost of candies. Same rule can be applied for selecting candies to fill party favours.
